I heard this quote from the sermon this morning - I thought it's quite enlightling, and really show how stupid a person is for hodling grudge.

Something to think about during Monday Blue tomorrow  while others at work start to piss you off.

Mitsuwa Japanese Supermarket has it's annual summer festival starting today.   Grace and I stopped by during lunch hour for a quick bite as well as to pick up few items from the sales. 
There are boxes after boxes of items (mostly junk food, cookies, instant soup, pickle, etc) - all $1 each.  Such a great deal!  BTW, don't forget to check the expiration date before your purchase!!!
The place is packed, I guess everyone is looking for good deal, and junk food to eat during the weekend

One cuisine that I can eat every day is Korean Food.  I never seem to get tired of it.  There are just so many different varieties:  bibimbap, tofu pot, BBQ, cold noodles, seafood pan cake, and ginseng chicken soup... I can keep going on and on and on the whole night.  During the cold winter time, the pot of steaming hot tofu pot with BBQ Rib is the must have.
I've been craving for Korean hot soup for a while but was stopped by the steaming weather for weeks.  The weather finally cooled down a little today in Orange County.  I waited no more and headed to HK Market with Grace for lunch.
I ordered the Miso Tofu Soup and BBQ Combo. It's such a great deal only $8.75 for a completed meal!  It also came with two side dishes:  kimchi and spicy radish.
The BBQ came in a sizzling mini hot plate (it's so cute- mini size of sizzling plate)  It's well marinated and very tender.  I also like the grilled onion that came with it.  
Korean Seafood Miso Soup is different than the typically Japanese Miso Soup.  Korean miso soup is toward salty side, while Japanese miso soup is lighter and more sweet.  The hot soup goes very well with BBQ, since BBQ is a little sweet so it balances out perfectly.  I also like the tofu, oyster, and veggie inside.  It goes very well with the rice.... I finished the bowl of rice.

I was having a hard time falling asleep last night, was still quiet awake at 1am.  As I tried to force myself to sleep, my phone rang.  It was my friend J from Taiwan. I wrote about reconnecting with her in my Blog few weeks ago (http://www.wretch.cc/blog/longlonglin&article_id=6548204).  

I've meant to call her for two weeks now. Every time when I tried to pick up the phone, I hesitated.  To be fully honest, I was a bit afraid to make that call.  After all, we haven’t spoken to each other for years, our lives most likely have gone so many different directions since last time we spoke.  Yes, we were best friends before, but it has been a long time ago.  I am not sure if the connection between us is still there.  What am I going to say to her?  How can I summarize my 7-8 years of life into a 10 minute conversation?  Will she be able to relate to me?  I was anxious.  

My pessimistic attitude has been proven to be totally wrong.  We filled each other in with what’s going on in our lives, and picked up some old past memories.  It was just like the old time.  Back then it was two teenager girls sitting at the café shared with each other their big dreams for the futures.  Fifteen years later, it’s two professional adults shared their joy, heartbreaks and the dreams they still have via a long distance phone call across Pacific Ocean.  The great thing is that although the method of sharing or dreams might be totally different, but the feeling of the true friendship and closeness has not changed.  

Yeah!  My order from Drugstore.com is here.  This is the 2nd time I ordred from drugstore.com.  I really like its products and services.  The delivery is fast and free.  The package is well wrapped, so it won't be damaged.  (Can you see that bottle is nicely packaged with plasic wrap?)
I ordered few items this time:  FA Body Wash, Gysomed hand cream, Kiss my Face Shaving lotion, and the refilled of Propoline hair mask.
I first discovered FA body wash in France many years ago.  It's the popular day- to- day bath and body care brand all around in Europe, you can get it at drug stores, supermarkets, or the discount warehouse.  I really like the fruity smell of it's shower gel, the handwash proudct is also really good.  I used to buy bunch of them every time I visited.  Later on, I started to see the products on the drugstore shelves in NYC, but hasn't seen any in California yet.  I was pleased to see Drugstore.com is carrying it. .  It came with many different flavor- mostly fruity smell.  I ordered Peach Ice Tea Body Wash.  It smell so good - just like peach ice tea. Lots of foam, and most importantly it won't dry out your skin!!  It's pretty cheap - $5.99 per bottle - good deal!
I also ordered Kiss-my-Face Lavender mositure shave.  I've tossed away the traditional shaving gel years ago since I found this natural shaving lotion. It not only keep your skin smooth but also smell really good!  Lavender smell is my favoriate. 
I picked up the little travel size fragrance-free hand cream. The hand cream absorbs quickly - not bad.  I also got two additional propoline hair masks - I really like this hair mask. (http://www.wretch.cc/blog/longlonglin&article_id=5751290 ).

I like to wonder around on Saturday.  I don't really care about the heat wave, I just can't stand staying home. 
Well, since Samuel was busy this weeeknd, and I didn't get chance to play with him or give him the new Thomas Train toy I bought him earlier .  I decided to do a little shopping on my own to kill time.

After spending time at the mall and Lake Avenue.  I stopped by TJ Max before heading home.  I found this nice tea cup & plate set.  
I need to admit. I like to collect  junk.  My kitchen cabinets are filled with various china, cups, plates, bowls, and etc....   I like to pick up unique china sets. 
Don't you think this is cute english tea set?  It's perfect for the afternoon tea, a cup of passion fruit infused tea with bitesize pastry.
It was wrapped nicely.  The little tea cup placed in the nice royal blue velvet box.  I think 20% of the reason I bought it is because of the wrapping
The plate has a nice cube shape - pear shape, and with a nice and simple flower pattern.
The little tea cup just sits nicely and perfectly on the plate.  It's like the little gril's tea party toys.
I can't wait to use it.  It should also go well with a cup of espresso and biscotti.....

I wonder how she looks like now?  Does she get more teeth? more hairs?  and still likes to smile a lot? 
It's been a while since I saw our little princess, Hannah.
Hannah's Mom and Dad are lazy, and don't send us more pictures.  The last picture I got from Hannah's dad was "Hannah's Feb '06 Picture" collection- almost 6 months now. 
ahhh..I wonder how the little pricess looks like now?  Where is the picture from Hannah's Birthday Party?

I can't beleive my eyes!!!!
My electricity bill is here.  $93!!!!!
It's almost triple my regular bill.  Thanks to the hot summer days in Southern CA these past weeks.  My AC has been on 24/7 for 2-3 weeks now.

Christabelle's Blog introduced Chinese red chili oil dumpling (Red Oil Fried Hands????) today.  It looked so yummy and made me crave for dumpling.  Luckily, Mom prepared me some dumpling last weekend, so I  prepared some for dinner.  BTW, what's the difference between the regular dumpling and "Red Oil Fried Hands"?  Isn't it just dumpling with red oil sauce?
I've always liked dumpling.  I was a picky eater when I was young.  I didn't like left over food, and refused to eat reheated rice.  When Mom prepared me rice dish lunch, I would eat all the meat and veggie, and would not touch any rice.  Mom used to have a hard time prepare me lunch box for school.  She would end up prepare me BBQ bun, stir fried noodle, and also dumpling.....
I like this dumpling.  Mom bought this home-made dumpling from some local vendor.  It's Cod Fish Celery dumpling.  I don't like pork dumpling, I like seafood dumpling with lots of veggie.  I prepared the sauce with red chili, sesame oil, Japanese lemon soy sauce, and some rice wine vinegar.  It goes perfectly with the dumpling.  Don't you think this looks almost exactly like "Red Oil Fried Hands"?
This is the best dumpling I've had.  Hand made dough, unlike those machine made dough, it is thick, but Q.  It's filled with good amount of cod fish and celery which just melted in your mouth and very juicy. 
I had 11 dumplings, so it's time to go to the gym now.  Ciao -
