After a rough Satruday morning start, Mom and I went for a quick pedicure (Mom even got a flower design on her toes 
), then two of us headed to Garden Cafe for lunch.
Garden Cafe is a H.K style cafe. It has traditional chinese cuisine but also have fusion european cuisine. I like the Hong Kong Style Cafe. I spent a lot of time hang out in the HK Cafe with my friends in college....Garden cafe have total of 3 chain restaurants in Southern California. This is the newly opened one in Arcadia near our home. It's really crowded, the wait for the table wasn't that bad, but the parking is a bit hard to find.
I ordered Mixed Cold Tea/Coffee Drink - I always ordered this in HK cafe. I like it with condensed milk. They made it just right here, not too sweet.
Mom had the Red Bean Ice. It's really good too. Sweet Red Bean with Ice and condense milk. A lot of people ordered it here.
The cafe is really busy, but the service is actually pretty fast. Lunch speical came with soup. I had cream soup, and Mom had Veggie Soup.
Mom's soup is better. The cream soup was too thick.
I ordered the French grill pork chop Sandwich. It came with fries.
I was initially a bit disappointed when my dish arrived. I thought it was on the hamburger bun. But after my 1st bite, I realized it was on a French baguette. It's so good. Crispy outside, but soft inside. The pork is very tender, taste like chicken meat. I did't like the fries, it was too greasy - Mom ate most of it.
Mom ordered Grilled Chicken Steak with Mushroom sauce. It also came with pasta. The chicken steak is good. You will never go wrong in H.K cafe to order chicken steak. mushroom sauce is good, but you can also try the black pepper sauce.
We also order a XO sauce stir fried udon to go for Dad.
The price is really reasonable and the portion is big. The bill came up to be less than $20. Perfect place for quick lunch on Saturday. The only thing I didn't like is that the restaurant is very loud - people talked so loud here - I can hardly hear myself.
