9:00pm, it's another late night at work. It has been my straight 80 hours work week for the past two weeks.....
I tried to convince myself, one more week then it will get better.
I turned on the TV, watched the re-run of Greys' Anatomy while wrapping few more things up. Just as I thought things couldn't get worse, the building alarm went off...........................
Okay - what now? I hope this is a false alarm...
"This is your building security, This is a drill, repeat, this is a real drill, please go to your nearest stairway and reach to the plaza level as soon as possible. Again, please go to the plaza level as soon as possible. We are investigating possible emergency in the building".
I grabbed my bag and headed toward the emergency exit. Dragging my tired body in 2 inches heels.heading down to the ground level. Oh, BTW, my office is at 20th FL
Luckily I just drank my 2nd bottle of "red bull" a hour ago, so I had some energy...
"Should I take off my heels and run for my life?"
"what if the door won't open when I reached the ground level..... "
"How come there is no one else in the stairway?"
"16th fl.....10th fl, okay I'm half way"
Finally as I reached to 7th FL, I heard a sound of foot steps in front of me.....
I hurried and tried to catch that person. Finally I caught up with another lady at 5th fl....
"I'm so glad to see you, I thought there's no one else here" The lady seemed so happy to see me.
"Me too, I thought I was the only one here" I greeted her.
1 minute after we reached to the plaza level. The announcement went on again...
"This is your building security, We've identified it was a false alarm. You are now safe to return to your location"

Glass is always half full, look at the bright side, I did my exercise for the day..............

The moral of the story: 一 辦公室裡要放一雙球鞋 逃生方便 二 該運動啦 真有火災發生 逃命比較快 我下星期三可能會去Fullerton出差 還不確定 請你喝一杯吧
有啊 只是懶得換 命一條 該去就去了
I guess I will never have a chance to experience this false alarm. poor thing. how long did it take you to the ground level? 我想你當時的心情一定很怕又很氣吧! 要自己小心哦! 一個人在辦公室.
謝謝Patricia的關心, 我們公司很安全, 沒有ID連電梯都上不了. It took me about 10 minutes to the ground level.
