度假回來了.  這次vacation有點短,  去時飛機delay五小時   , 前幾天下雨 ....有些掃興.   不過overall vacation 還不錯.
大家都很好奇我這次又買了什麼?  應眾親友 要求,  先post 夏威夷的戰利品.  Waikiki 真的是購物天堂.  稅低, 各樣名牌店聚集一方.  我就像小孩進糖果店一樣,  無法自拔掉.  不過 四天下來,  我逛累了,  錢也花光了
原本就有計畫要買一個LV包.  不過逛逛後, 決定換個口味.....（LV 別生氣, 你還是我的最愛...只是生活呆板的我, 偶爾須要一些改變...）
買了一個黑色皮working tote 和一款新Prada logo 的紫色皮夾.

要去Vacation 了.  原本要休一整個星期, 不過忙不過來.  看來星期四回來後, 又得進公司了.  唉........
走之前就讓我抱怨一下幾個月前請的菜鳥吧.  請這小鬼, 真的是我接這份工作後最大的mistake.........
二十初頭的有錢少爺, 六尺多, 南加大畢業.   彬彬有禮, 看起來家教不錯.  當初hire 他時最主要就是覺得個性不錯, 可以和同事相處.
幾個月下來同事相處是很融恰,  不過.... 這小孩實在太懒又沒動力.
可能是我老了吧.  Y 世代的小孩好像線線的.  有點好高兀原遠.  要人牽著才肯學.  我記得自己以前剛出道時很賣力.  哪有像這小孩三點不到就想開溜. 

太爽了,  剛發現 Louis Vuitton  Murakami 設計的 蘑菇男孩系, 在洛杉磯MOCA博物館展覽.   有專櫃限量發行蘑菇男孩系列. 
更好康的是 MOCA博物館......就在我公司對面!!!!!  等不急去瞧瞧了.  我公司員工可免費參觀MOCA博物館.

這個週末什麼事都沒做, 就是只有敗家.  說真的, 我是真的很愛買. 衣服, 皮包, 鞋子, 化妝品 - 雜七雜八 樣樣買.  家裡待不住, 週末大小店亂逛.  現在連Nordstrom 專櫃小姐都認識我......  OL 我沒啥大興趣. 逛街, SPA, 做指甲就是我最大的消遣.  聽起來好像很膚淺. 不過我就是這樣, 沒辦法. 
不過我也不怕別人說我膚淺敗家.  反正我自己賺自己花, 別人也管不著.
上星期看了介紹超人氣的韓國 BB Cream 就一直想買. 網路上有賣, 可是又不太相信網路上賣的.  上星期一去Beverly Hills Office 開會時, 回工司前還繞去韓國城看看. 只是沒有我要的牌子.... 這週末買BB Cream好像是我的mission.  東跑西跑的找. 其實我的皮膚很好又白, 根本不須要太多遮掩. 只是現在聽說有這好東西 我就手癢....
更糟糕的是網友又介紹好用的 Aqualabel 粉餅. 我又想買了.... 唉.. 其實女人就是愛美.

I was living in New York City when 9/11 happened  6 years ago.  As many New Yorker can testify, it was an experience that no one would ever forget and only new yorkers can understand.....
My office was across the river from World Trade Centers. The first plane hit just right before I arrived to the office that morning.  No one has any clue on what's going on.  I remembered standing by the window on 30th FL and  saw a plane just in the middle of the building - so surreal.  From far, we all thought it was some private jet with some pilot accident - no big deal....  No one thought it was an attack  Without knowing what's happening, I even went down to pick up some coffee with my co-workers.  Then the 2nd plane hit, and it was clear to everyone that something was wrong.  I remember people rushing to get to the 1st FL.  We were the only high rise building in the area cross river of the towers, people thought we might be the next target. 
I was lucky that I left work right before all subways/transportation was shut down in and out Manhattan.  It was not till I got home and watched TV, then realized what was just happened.  it's just hard to connect terrorist attack with our day to day New York City life - it supposed to be something happen far away from us.
I never saw that many panic faces walking down the New York Street, empty shelfs in the market as people trying to stock up day to day supplies, people are fight to get that last bottom of water- kind of like war zone.  Well- i guess it was a war zone....
I still remember that smell in New York City air weeks following the attack -smell of burning in the air....You can't tell if that was smell of burning buildings or human remains.  So many lives were lost and families were broken. Many brave fire fighters and polices' who died trying to save lives.  They are the true hero.  Nothing political - but I also admire Giuliani's leadership during that time. 

那天去大學校友網站時, 才知道我一位數學系的教授年初時過世了. 
Professor Morris Newman 算是我的恩師. 我拿了三年他的課.  其時那時他已經退休了. 就因為熱愛教書 every year, he would teach one or two classes, 也讓我有機會拿他的課.  我大二時, 他應該七十幾了吧.  肚子大大的, 很慈祥, 好像沒看他發脾氣過.
說實在的 三年來學的都忘光光了. 那時是學 numerical theory.  當時對運用數學程式設計密碼和解碼很有興趣, 也很喜歡聽 Professor Newman 說他如何在二次大戰時, 用數學程式幫情報局 破德國的秘密通訊的 story.  有一陣子. 我還想畢業後去情報局工作呢!
我除了上他的課, 也和他做兩年的 independent research, 幫他改作業 賺外快.  也因為他的推薦 讓我在大三時 有機會到 College of Williams and Mary 做研習 大開眼界.  我的視野從此不再只是小小的南加州  我還記得二姐說我從Virginia 回來後變得很 liberal.  Oh! 後來我的研究有被出版喲.....
也因為教授的鼓勵和推薦讓我順利的進入研究所

9:00pm, it's another late night at work.  It has been my straight 80 hours work week for the past two weeks..... 
I tried to convince myself, one more week then it will get better. 
I turned on the TV, watched the re-run of Greys' Anatomy while wrapping few more things up.  Just as I thought things couldn't get worse, the building alarm went off...........................
Okay - what now?   I hope this is a false alarm...
"This is your building security, This is a drill, repeat, this is a real drill, please go to your nearest stairway and reach to the plaza level as soon as possible.  Again, please go to the plaza level as soon as possible.  We are investigating possible emergency in the building".

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort 
Pacifica  是 adult only resort.  當時要去 Cabo 時, 本來要住這. 可是因為 Pueblo Bonito Sunset Resort 比較大, 餐廳也有比較多, 所以沒住 Pacifica.
不過 Sunset Beach Resort and Pacifica Resort are sisters resorts, there are free shuttles taking us there.  We can enjoy Pacifica's resort facilities.
Pacifica is known for a spa like resort.  一進門就可以聞到薰衣草的味道.  裡頭裝潢很雅致 very zen like.

工作忙得不可開交了   明年預算季節開始了  容容我將有一兩個月不見天日的日子   好懷念 my Cabo vacation

Our favorite restaurant in Cabo is The Bistro.  The food is good and price is reasonable - mostly it locates inside the resort, so we didn't need to go into the town.  We practically ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 
Mexican Breakfst:  (Warning: Yummy but not good for diet).  Melted cheese, grilled chicken wtih toasted chips - definitely a comfy food
