Mitsuwa Japanese Supermarket has it's annual summer festival starting today. Grace and I stopped by during lunch hour for a quick bite as well as to pick up few items from the sales.
There are boxes after boxes of items (mostly junk food, cookies, instant soup, pickle, etc) - all $1 each. Such a great deal! BTW, don't forget to check the expiration date before your purchase!!!
The place is packed, I guess everyone is looking for good deal, and junk food to eat during the weekend
We decided to have lunch at the food court first. Grocery shopping with the empty stomach is never a good idea!!!
I ordered a simple udon and beef rice combo. I like to have a bit of everything! The price is very reasonable - $6.75 only!!!
I was surprised how good the udon is. It only came with a little soup (maybe a different style of undo?), but the soup base is so good. The noodle is very Q, they cook it just right. It also came with a deep fried fish cake.
The beef rice bowl is good, too - but after I ordered it, I realzied that I just had a beef bowl for dinner last night.
With a satisfied stomach, we both headed toward the sales section. I had a good self-controll, and only pciked up few items.....
Two bags of crackers for this weekend , few bags of instant miso soup, a bottle of pickle salad dressing, plams, soba noodle for the summer quick dinner, and also the green tea/red bean cake that Dad likes. Feast for the family this weekend!
