I always thought I have an unshakeable mind. I don't easily get persuaded by sales person - I know what I need the best, I really don't need a sales person to tell me that. I used to laugh at those women, who go to the cosmetic counter and let the sales lady talks them into buy extra cosmetic they don't need.... I used to call them "weak mind". Well, somehow, I had joined the club this weekend.
I've been wanted to get a new bronzer for weeks. Especially after Jane told me on Friday that I should get rid of some old make-up. I threw away my old bronzer and headed to the mall. Few weeks ago, I got the postcard from Benefit about their new bronzer- and it looks really nice, so I went straight to Benefit counter at Macy's. The sales lady walked up to me and asked what I needed. I told her that I needed a new bronzer. I was planning to buy and walk out - but somehow, I ended up sitting in the counter and the lady was giving me a whole make over!!! Well, either the lady did a great job on my make-up or she had extreme good sales skills, I walked out of the counter with total of 5 products while I only needed one. I felt so ashamed of myself. HOW CAN MY STRONG MIND BEEN TALKED INTO BUYING THINGS I DON'T REALLY NEED. IT'S NOT ME!!
I went home with tons of guilt, and thought about returning all of them excepts my bronzer. But after Gloria told me the makeover looks really good on me, and Mom told me that if it looks good on you, you should keep it. I decided to keep all of them. See, it's not my falut for spending outrageously....It's the people around me: Jane for telling me to throw away old make up; Gloria for saying I look nice; and Mom (BTW- she is the worst of them, she also made me buy- $222 Ann Taylor suit. and a on sale black sandal, and few tops from Talbots sales.,...)
With all those complaints, I do need to share with you what I got from Benefit. They are great!!
BTW, everytime I passed by Benefit counter, I thought about Karin. Few years ago, Karin and I went shopping, and she saw a leg balm from Benefit and wanted to buy it. I stopped her from buying it (see...I am a good sister), I told her that she doesn't need a $30 leg balm, regular lotion would be fine. Well, we walked out empty handed that day. However, the next day, she went back and bought it. She told me she dreamed about using that leg balm the night before, and she just needed to buy it. Well, I don't know if she really dreamed about it or just trying to come up with an excurse. I didn't give her much hard time, after all, how often can one actually makes his or her dream come true right away?
This is Dr. FeelGood- A velvety complexion balm. Beneift cosmetic always has unquie name and package. it has the vintage look, and give a old Hollywood feeling. Maybe, that's how they attract buyers -who wouldn't want to experience old Hollywood glamourous and feel like Audrey Hepburn?
Dr. Feel good is used as either base or simply wear it alone. It is blended with Vitamin C helps to smooth away fine line and help the skin look more silky and also give a matte finihs. It's actually weightless, not greasy - very easy to use.
This is "Get Even" - Face powder. It helps to blot away shine and cover any discoloration - blotting powder. I also put it on today, it doens't feel heavy. Very good for the summer hot weather in So. CA.
Well, here come the only product I really need- Dallas Bronzer. It's the combo of Bronzer and Blush- so it gives a very natural look- it doesn't give too much orange tone like the normal bronzer.
I also got the Mascara, called "Bad Gel" - strange name. The brush is really big, and easy to seperate lashes. I had it on since this morning, and so far it stayed and didn't give me "panda eyes"
Finally, I also get this lip gloss - Big Magic. It's not too sticky- feels pretty good after putting it on
Well, these are all my achievements from Benefit this weekend. Although my bank account is bleeding now, but it was fun cleaning up my make-up box this afternoon while putting in all these new stuffs. Just to make myself less guilty, I told myself - I have a business trip to Seattle next week, and I need to look fresh, after all, I represent my team here Irvine - I need to look good.
