My addiction to Jeans.....
I couldn't remember how it started.... I used to think it's ridiculous to spend so much money on a pair of jeans. What's different between a $20 Old Navy jeans vs. $200 Seven Jeans....
I remember at UCSB, my roommates and I are big fans of Levis 517 straight leg boot-cut jeans. Nat and Wasana were more fashion forward - they liked those vintage bell bottom jeans(from West Seal??). I think we spent no more than $30 in a pair of jeans. We were poor students and couldn't afford anything too expensive anyway. Maybe also, we were young and "skinny" and anything looked good on us.
My jeans life were retired soon after I started working. I only owned 1 pair of jeans when I was working in New York. New Yorker only wears black trouser - jeans is uncool and is for tourists.
Thanks to my shopping pal in crime, Jane - I started my expensive Jeans collection. Jane introduced to me my 1st Seven Jeans, 1st Citizens Jeans, 1st True Religion Jeans ( and of course soon after that, I introduced them all to Karin....). I remembered my first reaction "what? $170 for a pair of Jeans- you must be kidding". Jane was very patient and educated me the difference - " I'm telling you, it will really make your butt looks smaller, and your legs looks longer. Plus, you worked hard this week, and should reward yourself with something nice". With some doubt, I purchased my 1st seven jeans - (of course with 10% Macy's family and friend discount coupon) - since then I was hooked.
I remembered I told myself. "I just need one pair of nice jeans, I won't buy more"... But soon after that there came my citizen jeans
Then my Diesel (It's different- it has pockets!!!)
and my People's Liberation (It's different- the pocket design is really cute...)
and then my True Religions Jenas (It's different - it has nice pockets and a vintage look)
and one of my latest purchase - 575 Jeans (It's hot in Southern CA, and I really need a jean capri for the weekend
Since I was a Math major, I did a quick math...Wow, I spent alomst $1000 on jeans over the past two years.... That's a lot of money, and maybe I should exercise more, lose some weight and then Levis 517 will also look good me once again... Well, I'm not sure if those expensive jeans really made me look 1 size smallers, but everytime when I put on my Seven Jeans on, my memeory of "Jeans Hunt with Friends" just came back, and that makes me smile... After all, "girlfriends' bonding" is pricelss.
