We had another farewell lunch for a colleague at BJ today. He is leaving banking to join the exciting entertainment industry.
Given a shifted of geographic focus and politics, lately, we seem to have farewells every other days. The funny thing is most people tend to be going to either Competitor A or Competitor B. Maybe next time we should invite the recruiters from both competitors to join our farewell parties, have some information sessions and pass out applications.
People come and go are normal at the workplace – as everyone wants to pursue a brighter future. However, with all those movements in the group sometimes it’s hard to be motivated and focus on the day to day routine. The unknown and uncertainty seem to keep everyone so quiet, almost like the calmness before the storms. Maybe people are quietly exploring their next moves, or busy picking up extract works form people who just left, or just simply busy planning where the next farewell and who would it be for…….
